Hello everyone!
My name is Sara Gonzalez, and I am a first-generation Latina and Spanish-English bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist based in New York.
I began my career working in Early Intervention before transitioning into the preschool setting. Today, I work as a school-based bilingual SLP and bilingual speech-language evaluator, supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families.
One of my biggest passions is working with bilingual children and advocating for culturally responsive practices within the field of speech-language pathology. I also share my experiences, resources, and everyday life as a bilingual SLP on Instagram at @abilingualslp.
I am also the Co-Founder and President of the B.E.A.M. SLP Program (Bilingual Empowerment through Allied Mentorship), a mentorship program created to support minority and diverse SLP students, Clinical Fellows, and early-career clinicians through mentorship, representation, and community.
Outside of speech therapy, you can usually find me working out, traveling, trying something new, or spending time with family and friends.
Thanks for stopping by! Explore my site to learn more about bilingual speech-language pathology, mentorship, resources, and a little bit of life beyond the therapy room.
